Practicing the Presence of God in Nature

A meditation class at the Missouri Botanical Garden
Facilitated by Tia S. Adkins

Please join me for a 5 week meditation class focusing on the Silence. Beginning June 20 and going through July 18, 2009. The course will begin with 10 minutes of Silence and 40 minutes of discussion in the first meeting and gradually increase the Silence each week until we are at 10 minutes of discussion and 40 minutes of Silence.

The text for this course is Meditation in the Silence by E.V. Ingraham. We have a couple of copies of the book available in the library of the Center of Divine Love for $2. The book is published by the Unity School of Christianity and should be available on line.

Each week we will meet in the lobby of the Missouri Botanical Garden between 8:15 and 8:29am. There is no admission charge for people who live in St. Louis city or county if they arrive before 12 noon on Saturdays. We will then head out into the garden at 8:30am and walk out to one of the many secluded areas that are good for meditation. We will develop our ability to focus on the Presence of God within in the beautiful, inspired surroundings of the English Woodland, Japanese and Chinese gardens.

There is no charge for this class. Please dress appropriately for the weather. I will not be reading from the book. It is very important that you do the reading before our meetings. The reading is very easy. Before meeting one please read pages 1-18 with particular focus on pages 12-18. Before the second meeting please read pages 19-28. We will meet on July 4th and the reading will be pages 29-37. Our fourth meeting will be July 11 and will be discussing pages 37-39 and finally meeting 5, July 18, will be a discussion of pages 40-43.

I really look forward for this journey in to the Silence and I hope you will join me.
-In Love and Oneness Tia
